Ablatic is an AI research lab in Linz, Austria, founded as a JKU startup at Johannes Kepler University Linz and based at the LIT Open Innovation Center.
Our research line is to rethink the foundations of the transformer: how much of what a frontier model costs is actually necessary.

Talos-1
Our first production model, built for agentic work in European companies. It runs on an architecture we designed ourselves and scores level with much larger models on agentic benchmarks. 200k context at launch, widening to 1M in phases.

A byte pair encoder for 60 languages. Measured against the tokenizers of eight leading open-source models, it carries more European text per token than any of them, and it still leads on English.
